Welcome to the Spirit of Hope Conference, a transformative event for young adults taking place from the 30th of May to the 1st of June, 2025, at the Archdiocese Pastoral Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Join us for a life-changing conference designed to inspire and empower young adults in Malaysia! Step into a dynamic, spirit-filled space where our Catholic faith comes alive, friendships are built, and hearts are set on fire for Christ.
Rooted in Romans 15:13, we believe that through the Holy Spirit, we can overflow with hope and joy. This same spirit is equipping us to be bold missionary disciples. Come and be part of a movement that spreads the light of Christ to the world!
Participants can look forward to a variety of enriching experiences throughout the conference:
Paul Julianose is a full-time Catholic Lay Missionary who also serves as Founding President of The Seeds. Happily married since 2024, he and his bride are united in their commitment to serving the Lord and spreading His message. Fueled by the fire of the Holy Spirit, they are dedicated to igniting faith and spreading the Gospel, empowering individuals to experience the transformative power of God’s love. Through The Seeds, they are dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and planting the seeds of faith within communities, empowering individuals to discover their God-given potential and live lives rooted in Christ’s love.
Jonathan Charanraj is a full-time Catholic Lay Missionary with a heart fully devoted to serving God and His people. Passionate about helping others discover their true identity and calling, he firmly believes that each person is a precious gift from God, uniquely created for His great plan. Through his ministry, Jonathan inspires others to embrace their worth and purpose in Christ. Beyond his mission work, he enjoys the simple joys of life—digging into a good plate of nasi lemak, playing the drums with energy and soul, and staying active at the gym. His life radiates purpose, joy, and dedication.
Brenda is a counselor with a heart for journeying alongside others in faith and mental well-being. One of her greatest joys is witnessing people grow into who Christ created them to be. She is passionate about walking with others through life’s ups and downs, creating spaces for healing, growth, and authentic connection in Christ. One of her deepest encounters with Jesus has been learning to trust that He is who He says He is—and that He is always faithful. In her free time, you’ll find her journaling, reading, or simply sitting with Jesus in adoration.
Sophia Goh grew up in a Catholic family, and first encountered Jesus in the Eucharist at 17 years old. In university, doing on-campus ministry, she discerned an invitation from Christ to do full-time youth pastoral work in a parish, before being called to move to Penang into full-time ministry with The Seeds Ministry. In her free time, you can find her cooking, talking to friends, at Adoration, climbing, or reading! She’s excited to share how meeting & living with Jesus continues to be the source of hope & new life in her family.
Justin and Rachel D’Souza have been married for 6 years. They have little 3 year old son, Raphael. As a couple, they serve in Friends in Action for Christ (FIAT), a young working adults ministry. They are also members of the Covenanted for Christ (CfCC Community), Kuala Lumpur. As a family, they strive to live as witnesses of Christ and to bring others to Him.
Roeshan Gomez has been actively serving in youth ministry for over 17 years and as a catechist for more than 15. He currently serves on the Parish Pastoral Council, Catechist Core Team and the Youth Discernment Team at St. Ignatius Church, Petaling Jaya. Roeshan resonates deeply with Jeremiah 20:9 (“His word is like a fire shut up in my bones…”), which basically means he can’t not talk about Jesus. He’s passionate about preaching the kerygma or the core Gospel message and helping people see the beauty of the Church that’s already here, but maybe just hidden behind old pews and PowerPoint slides. Expect heart, humour, and maybe a holy rant or two.
